What’s behind the rate increase and how MRES is responding

Even with a 4.7% power supply rate increase in 2026, the MRES rate remains low and below average compared to others in the region. MRES’ wholesale power rate is about 15% lower than 12 comparable regional wholesale utilities. This competitive position reflects years of strategic planning that continue to deliver reliable, affordable power while preparing for future energy needs.
