Advocating for Members
MRES serves as an advocate for its members and continuously monitors legislative and regulatory activity at the federal level and in the four states we serve — Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota — as well as in Wyoming, where our main generating resource is located.
We continue to build relationships with lawmakers and policymakers who represent our member districts, and we make sure we keep in touch with them so they stay informed about our initiatives and issues.
MRES also may intervene or participate in federal or state regulatory proceedings when necessary if those directives or proposals affect MRES and our member municipal electric utilities.
