The July-August MRES Today highlights major projects, partnerships and the people advancing public power across the region. The issue features written approval of the Big Stone South to Alexandria transmission line route permit, preparations for Exira Station’s major fall outage and an inspiring firsthand account of the Light Up Navajo initiative. It also showcases the Smart Energy Squad program, helping fifth-grade students learn about energy efficiency through interactive classroom experiences. Additional stories introduce new MRES Board Member Kristi Honeywell as well as recognizing retiring Board Member Brad Palmer; an emphasis on cybersecurity awareness; highlights on energy efficiency partnerships and promotion of upcoming training and member events.
