Bright Energy Choices
Bright Energy Choices (BEC) is a “green energy” program in which customers purchase renewable energy certificates (RECs) from your utility, indirectly offsetting the carbon emissions associated with their energy consumption. This allows customers to be “net-zero carbon.” The BEC program also allows members to participate on behalf of the community.

Renewable Energy Certificate Program Principles
MRES offers a REC Management Program (Program) as an additional benefit to members. MRES S-1 members are allocated an annual share of RECs by the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA). RECs allocated to members by WAPA are herein referred to as WAPA RECs. MRES will manage WAPA RECs on the member’s behalf in accordance with the terms and conditions of the REC Designated Entity Contract between the member, MRES, and WAPA and this Program.
