Dordt University shows stewardship in action with BES rebates

At Dordt University, energy efficiency is part of a long-term commitment rather than a one-time initiative. Over the years, the university has taken a practical approach to improving how its campus uses energy, investing in upgrades that reduce demand and operating costs. Those efforts recently resulted in a significant rebate through the Bright Energy Solutions program. From lighting upgrades to innovative cooling systems, each improvement reflects a broader focus on stewardship and smart decision-making. The results benefit both the campus and also the surrounding community and overall energy system.

MRES cost-share programs amplified member outreach in 2025

Missouri River Energy Services (MRES) helped member utilities amplify community outreach through cost-share programs that reimbursed up to 50% of eligible marketing and event expenses. In 2025, MRES invested more than $75,000, doubling the impact to over $150,000 in local communities. Through co-branded materials, advertising and community events, members strengthened visibility, promoted energy efficiency and reinforced public power values.

Masaba scores big energy payback with new Vermillion facility

Masaba, Inc., a Vermillion, South Dakota company, recently received a $38,278 rebate through the Bright Energy Solutions® program for strategic upgrades to their expanded manufacturing facility. The project, a successful collaboration with Vermillion Light & Power and Missouri River Energy Services, demonstrates Masaba's commitment to sustainability and smart energy decisions.
