First Lutheran Church of Sauk Centre receives $7,900 in rebates

Sauk Centre Public Utilities recently presented First Lutheran Church of Sauk Centre a check for over $7,900 as part of the Bright Energy Solutions® (BES) rebate program.

After a renovation project, the congregation elected to implement highly efficient LED lighting technology throughout the entire facility to highlight the building’s updated features. From the very beginning of the project, church officials agreed that efficient and sustainable equipment was a high priority.

As a result, the LED lighting that was chosen not only looks great, but it is also extremely efficient. It will use less energy than other lighting options, and it also has a longer life expectancy than other options currently on the market.

In addition to lighting upgrades, the church’s rebate also included rebates for installing ENERGY STAR® rated smart thermostats and ENERGY STAR rated appliances in the kitchen.

Member utilities that participate in the BES program offer no-cost walk-throughs for their commercial customers to help them understand their electrical rates, usage and ways to reduce energy consumption. These visits provide valuable data on how business customers can reduce their utility bills for many years to come.
